Dr Sumitha Nayak has been a practising Pediatrician with over 30 years of rich experience. The current COVID-19 pandemic has required major changes to be made in her paractise. She has ensured that all the COVID guidelines issued by the government from time to time are followed meticulously in the clinic.
Dr Sumitha Nayak received a the prestigious FELLOWSHIP from the INDIAN ACADEMY OF PEDAITRICS- the highest recognition for Indian Pediatricians today. Her undergraduate and Masters degree in Pediatrics was from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore India. A Diplomate in Pediatrics from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, India, she also holds a post graduate Diploma in Medico-Legal Science from Symbiosis school of Law, Pune. She is a HARVARD Medical School certified Practitioner for Lifestyle Management and Weight Control and holds a Post graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from Annamalai University. A teacher for students as well as other pediatricians, she regularly lectures at conferences.
Dr Sumitha Nayak is the author of four books, that have helped spread the knowledge of health and child care among the community and medical fraternity. Her social commitment has seen her books made available free of cost to the rural population of several districts in Karnataka.
She is a LIFE MEMBER of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, the apex body governing all pediatricians in India. She is also a LIFE MEMBER of the National Neonatology forum, Adolescent Medicine Chapter , Respiratory chapter and the Infectious Disease chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, India.
